New Delhi, September 03: Three persons, including two cable operators, were arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly woman at her residence a week ago, police said today.
The arrested persons were identified as Ravinder, Sushil and Manish, who had rented a portion of the building owned by the victim Santosh Sharma.
Sharma (54), vice president of Mahila Congress Mandal, was found murdered at her house in Shiv Vihar of north-east Delhi on August 27 by a neighbour’s son, who came to deliver her lunch. Some of her belongings were also missing.
“Ravinder and Sushil were running a cable TV network — Vishwakarma Cable TV Network — from the premises and Manish was their employee. They had taken a loan of Rs 1.7 lakh from Sharma,” a senior police official said.
“They were not in a position to repay and decided to kill her. They also wanted to grab the entire property,” he said.
