SRINAGAR: The Lieutenant General appealed mothers in Kashmir Valley to convince their sons who have picked up guns to get back to the mainstream or will be killed. He stated that “Anyone who has picked up the gun in Kashmir will be eliminated unless they surrender.”
The remarks came after an encounter started between security forces and militants in Pinglan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday leaving 3 militants, 4 security persons, and a civilian dead.
The whole leadership of Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed has been eliminated from the Kashmir Valley, claimed the army.
During a joint briefing by the army, Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon stated that “I request all the mothers of Kashmir to please request their sons who have joined terrorism to surrender and get back to the mainstream. Anyone who has picked up the gun in Kashmir will be eliminated unless he surrenders.”
The government’s surrender policy will help the young men return to the mainstream, said the officer.
The army said the three terrorists had been killed in “less than 100 hours” after the Pulwama terror attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a suicide attack orchestrated by the JeM – a Pakistan-based terror outfit- in Awantipora area of Pulwama.
