(Siasat News)In order to improve the proficiency in English of the student s, arrangements are being made in District Schools for conducting Spoken English classes.
The Collector of Karimnagar, Ms.Sumeetha Sabharwal inaugurated the awareness programme for the teachers of English in the District. She said that last year Spoken English classes were organized in 70 girls’ schools and the results were encouraging. With the same sprit, Spoken English classes were started in 650 Govt-high schools this year. This will build up confidence among the students. The students of rural areas can compete with the students of urban areas with improved Spoken English skills.
In society, people with good communication skills in English have better job opportunities. Spoken English classes have benefited students. The students who speak good English can excel in all the disciplines of life. She instructed the teachers to conduct Spoken English classes from VIth standard to Xth standard. She also advised the teachers should start teaching small sentences to initiate discussions in various topics. The teachers should also speak English, she advised.
