These thoughts were expressed by Ms. D. Pracandeshwari, Minister of HRD while inaugurating the three day workshop at Administrative Staff College of India yesterday she said that in administration besides reformation, innovation should also be highlighted. Govt. officials are required to change their mindset so that the benefits of the Govt. schemes reach the common people.
She said that it is worth appreciating that even during the world economic crisis, India remained unaffected and it maintained 8 to 9% GDP. India has proved that its economy is stable. She stressed the needs for innovations in public services in order to maintain transparency in administration and also to meet the demands of the 21st century. She disclosed the facts that in Govt. schools 13 crore students are studying. At the moment 611 universities and 31 thousand educational institutions and 6 lakh faculty members are engaged in the field of education.
She said that by eradicating corruption transparency in administration could be achieved. She pointed out that Govt. of Karnataka has put the details of the lands of 20 lakh farmers on the website and said that by such innovations we can play a better role in the development of the country.
