Hyderabad, August 10: Thieves struck at four houses in Injapur village on the city outskirts and decamped with nearly 17 tola gold ornaments and Rs 35,000 cash late on Sunday night. The thefts took place in a row of locked houses under the Vanasthalipuram police station limits.
According to police, thieves broke open locks of the house of P Vikram Reddy, a financier, who was away at Delhi while his wife had gone to her maternal home at Malkajgiri. From Vikram Reddy’s house, thieves forcibly entered into another house belonging to R Venkatesham, whose family had gone to their relatives house for Bonalu. Only two tola gold is said to be stolen from his house. Thieves then entered the house of Ashok but no valuables were stolen. Later, they entered the house of T Raghava Reddy, who had gone to his relatives’ house at Shamirpet for Bonalu and reportedly stole nine tola gold.
The thieves fled after relatives of Raghava Reddy staying in the first floor raised an alarm hearing noises in the ground floor.
