Thief caught with his pants down!
A burglar in the US was caught after police recognised him by his “bright red” underwear in which he was photographed by a neighbour while he was stealing.
Taykim Ross, 18, stole USD 200, electronics and sneakers from an apartment in Hempstead village, New York, and stopped in the backyard to try on the footwear.
An alert neighbour snapped a photo of him with red boxers visible above his jeans and sent it to the victim, who was at work, according to police.
Then, after looking at the picture, Hempstead Village Officer Russell Harris said he was returning after a canvass of the neighbourhood when he noticed someone in his rear-view mirror taking garbage out.
Harris said he saw someone bending over with “bright red underwear.”
“I just noticed someone bending over putting garbage down. And I saw the bright red underwear,” Harris was quoted as saying by Newsday.
Harris confronted the teen, who was actually helping an elderly neighbour.
“You’ve been doing a little shopping today?” Harris said.
Ross, of Hempstead Village, was arrested on second-degree burglary charges.
The items stolen from Ross were recovered by police.
