Mumbai, January 07: In this era of ever changing fashion and glamour, film stars are resorting to all sorts of means to make a style statement, and everything from strange hairstyles; to clothes to fashion accessories are finding a place in their armour. And the most recent example is the thick, black/brown, horn rimmed archaic spectacles that are worn by top film stars in their films to give them a de-glam look.
Kareena sported them with much elegance in 3 IDIOTS to give her the look of a studious medical student. In next Friday�s release, Yash Raj’s PYAAR IMPOSSIBLE!, Uday Chopra will be seen wearing these kind of specs to give him that nerd look and it has also been sported by his leading lady, Priyanka Chopra, to give her a non glamorous look in certain portions of PI. The same week will see Shah Rukh Khan sporting the same, but it will be red rimmed specs, in DULHA MIL GAYA.
However, it’s just not in films that these stars are sporting such specs. Top celebrities can be seen wearing the same in hotels and parties and on formal occasions. Abhishek Bachchan was seen sporting one at the premier of PAA. Ritesh Deshmukh too was seen in these specs at a recent party. And youth fashion icons, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan too wore them proudly at a recent award ceremony. And last but not the least, super hero, Hrithik Roshan was seen sporting them at a function in Subhash Ghai’s acting school, Whistling Woods.
Must say that stars sure know how to make even the most mundane accessory popular, because it is just the attitude that is needed for turning it into a fashion statement!
