Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday criticized Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao saying that it was wrong on the party of the Chief Minister to present the golden crown to the Bhadrakali temple with the public money and suggested that it would have been better for him to present the crown made out of his own money rather than using public money.
If the Chief Minister wants to fulfill vows, then he should do it on his own and not the public money, the Congress leader said. KCR has remembered the Ammavari (the deity) but he forgot Soniamma (Sonia Gandhi) who made Telangana dream a reality, the Congress leader quipped. KCR should be thankful to Soniamma too, VHR added.
The Congress leader demanded the state government to conduct a caste-wise census of the state population and make the details public. He said that the establishment of a BC Commission would not benefit the backward classes and demanded the state government to allot funds to the BCS based on their population. He also demanded the government to increase the creamy layer limit of income for BCs to Rs 15 lakh per annum. (INN)
