Thamballapally MLA Threatens To Quit Over Naidu Letter To PM

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s letter to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the Telangana issue was creating differences among the party leaders. Thamballapally TDP MLA Praveen Reddy on Thursday lashed out at Chandrababu for addressing the letter to the Prime Minister and demanded that the latter in favor of Telangana be withdrawn immediately. “Otherwise, Chandrababu has to change the party’s name as “Telangana Desam”, he warned.
Praveen Reddy said that organizing Telangana March on September 30 was meant to attack Seemandhra people.

It was bad that the Telangana TDP MLAs were extending support to such a March. He said that he would lodge a protest during the proposed Chandrababu’s Padayatra against his letter in favor of Telangana. He also warned Chandrababu that he was ready to tender his resignation if the latter failed to withdraw the letter. “It was not proper to Chandrababu Naidu to address a letter to the Prime Minister in favor Telangana being a Rayalaseema person. Naidu should rename the TDP as Telangana Desam Party. He also said that the party has become directionless after 2009 elections. The party chief was taking wrong decisions since then, he said.

He warned Chandrababu Naidu that he would not extend his support to the Padayatra if the latter failed to withdraw his letter before taking up Padayatra. (NSS)
