Bangkok: Thai authorities have expressed concern about mobile game Pokemon Go and are working on regulations to prevent possible accidents by fixing playing zones, the media reported on Wednesday.
Since its launch in Thailand on August 6, Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s augmented reality game has attracted a lot of young Thai people.
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and Information and Communication Technology Ministry (ICT) were instructed to work out regulations to prevent possible accidents, “probably by fixing playing zones”, Xinhua news agency reported.
In Bangkok’s famous shopping centre Paragon on Tuesday night, a lot of people were seen standing in front of luxury stores playing the game, as many places were installed with “Lure Modules”.
Parents were also asked to advise their children to avoid addiction to the game.
Thai police have already strictly prohibited playing the game while driving.
