On Wednesday, the Telangana government appointed power expert D Prabhakar Rao as chairman and managing director of Telangana Generation Corporation (TGenco).
At present, he is advisory member to Central University of Hyderabad.
Prabhakar Rao has more than 45 years of experience and worked in various positions including finance advisor and chief controller of accounts of erstwhile director of AP Gas Power Corporation and director (finance) of APGenco, APSEB, member (Accounts), APSEB, director, finance, APTransco,. Before demitting office recently, he served as JMD of APGenco.
The ERP project-Shakthi, launched by him in APGenco brought revolutionary changes in planning, implementation and monitoring of various modules of HR, accounts, finance & material management etc.
Prabhakar Rao will take charge on Thursday as per the schedule and address the power issues faced by the Telangana government.
