The Minor Irrigation Minister TG Venkatesh has clarified that some of the leaders have misunderstood his remarks against the IAS officers.
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Venkatesh has explained that his intention in making that statement was only to make the IAS officers, who failed to work, to discharge their duties for the sake of people.
It may be mentioned here that Venkatesh recently stated that the IAS officers and political leaders, who doesn’t work for the sake of people, should be shot on the roads. His statement drew loud protests from the officers and many other sections. Even the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said it was wrong on the part of the Minister to make such statements.
Venkatesh has opined that the leaders have the right to take up tours and Deekshas at any place in a democratic country. He was reacting to YSRCP honorary President Vijayamma’s decision to hold deeksha in Sirsilla on Weavers’ issues, and the objection raised to it by the TRs leaders. (NSS)
