Carlos Tevez scored the decisive spot-kick to help Argentina claim a 5-4 win on penalties over Colombia to advance to the semi-finals of the Copa America.
Although the Argentines displayed an attacking intent, Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina fended off the World Cup runners-up’s strikes throughout the game.
Ospina produced a stunning display as he denied Sergio Aguero, Lionel Messi and Nicolas Otamendi and enforced a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner, the BBC reported.
However, Colombia’s brief lapse of concentration cost them the game as Tevez converted the penalty to seal a 5-4 victory after Jeison Murillo failed in his attempt.
Argentina will next face either Brazil or Paraguay in Tuesday’s semi-final. (ANI)
