Terrorists killed, arrested in W Iran

Tehran, March 12: Iranian security forces have killed a terrorist and arrested another responsible for the death of four rangers in the western province of Kurdistan.

Kurdistan Deputy Governor Iraj Hassanzadeh said Saturday that the terrorists belonged to a “Salafi” extremist group, Mehr News Agency reported.

During armed clashes with the group in the town of Dehgalan, security forces killed one terrorist and arrested the other, who was injured in the fighting, Hassanzadeh said.

He said the detained terrorist confessed that his group was responsible for the killing of four rangers in the provincial capital of Sanandaj last Friday.

Hassanzadeh added that the terrorist group was “dismantled” by Iranian security and intelligence forces.
