Srinagar, December 16: A 21-year-old woman was shot dead by terrorists in front of her father Mohammed Maqbool Mir in South Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.
The terrorists barged into the victim’s house in Hergam-Keller, 70 kms from Srinagar, at around 8:30 PM on Tuesday night and after identifying the woman, Sheeraza Akhtar, shot her in her abdomen and chin.
Akhtar was a divorcee.
The motive behind the killing was being ascertained, Superintendent of Police, Shopian, Shahid Mehraj said.
