Terrorism threat to humanity: Modi remembers 26/11 attacks victims

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts via 38th edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday at 11 am.

In his last ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, Prime Minister Modi emphasised that families needed to pay closer attention to the health of their children, given the declining status of immunity among the younger generation, largely due to the “lifestyle disorder.”

Earlier on Saturday, seeking to exploit a crude meme tweeted by the Congress mocking the Prime Minister’s ‘chaiwala’ past, BJP leaders, including Arun Jaitley and Amit Shah, will listen to ‘Mann ki Baat’ while having tea with people across poll-bound Gujarat.

The event, to be held at all 50,128 polling booths in 182 Assembly seats, is named ‘Mann ki Baat – Chai Ke Saath’.

Other party leaders who would join the program at various places are Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Uma Bharti, Smriti Irani, Jual Oram, Parshottam Rupala, state BJP president Jitu Vaghani, chief minister Vijay Rupani and several Gujarat ministers, MLAs and MPs.

Here are the highlights:

  • Violence and acts of terrorism are attempts to dilute our social structure and disintegrate them, he says
  • Modi said that India has always spread the message of non-violence
  • Time has come for the world to unite and defeat the menace of terrorism, he adds
  • Terrorism is the biggest threat to not only humanity, but also to countries across the world, says PM
  • We salute all those brave women and men who were killed in 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, says Modi, remembering the horrific attacks
  • For over 4 decades, India has been raising the issue of terror. Initially the world did not take us seriously but now the world is realising the destructive aspects of terrorism, he adds
  • Our Constitution safeguards the rights of the poor and weaker sections of society, says Modi
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi reminds the nation that November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day and recalls efforts of the people who contributed in formulating the Constitution of India
