New Delhi: General Secretary of the All India Muslim Scholars Association (All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama) and Founder and Chancellor of the Markazu Ssaquafathi Ssunniyya, Sheikh Aboobacker Ahmed said terrorism is promoted due to ignorance, not through Islamic madaris. Terrorism can be combatted by promoting education, he said. He informed that they are establishing schools, madrasas, training centres on large scale. He said earlier we had focused on south India but now we are also running educational movements in north India too.
Shaikh revealed that a large madrasa has been established for women in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. Institutions are being established in Bihar, Kashmir and other regions. He further informed that they construct masajid in villages and build houses for poor. We are trying to establish an institution in north India on the lines of Knowledge City Centre in Kerala, he said.
Sheikh Aboobacker admitted that they are enjoying government’s support in their educational movement. They are working for the educational upliftment of Muslims for the past 40 years, which aims at providing modern education along with religious education so that the students can stand on their own feet.
