Terrorism is in mind not in guns: Satya Pal Malik

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik said that terrorism “is in the mind”. He claimed that terrorism cannot be crushed just by killing terrorists. Saying that the youth in the state have no faith in the political parties and are annoyed with the Indian government, Malik vowed to regain their trust.

Malik is quoted to have said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi favours a dialogue and I appeal to them to give up the gun and come talk to me.” He added, “Mistakes were made in the past by Delhi and Srinagar. I concede that elections were rigged. People were let down by their own leaders. My message to them is: you have Articles 370 and 35A; come to the table, and we are ready to give you anything under the Indian Constitution.”

Malik took charge of the state in August, two months after it was placed under Governor’s rule after Bharatiya Janata Party walked out of its ruling alliance with the People’s Democratic Party.
