Terror threat email send to16 ministers of Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Police is investigating an email received by 16 ministers in their official mail, sent by terrorists group, threatening a terror strike on January 26, Republic Day.

The police said, we are examining the credibility and authenticity of the email trying to verify whether it is a hoax to create panic in peak tourist season in the state. “We are looking into where the mail came from and who sent it.

Home minister Gulabchand Kataria and social justice and empowerment minister Arun Chaturvedi are among the cabinet ministers and ministers of state who received the emails on 22 December.

ADG-ATS Alok Tripathi said that language of the message was poor and no specific target was mentioned in the mail and also type of attack mentioned in this message, refuses to give further details of the emails received.

The Rajasthan government has, however, assured people that it will ensure full security in the state. “Alarming signals were coming for some time hence security arrangements were already tight.

“We have got the information and accordingly department has done its preparations. Further action will be taken by the police. Proper safety measures will be taken,” said Rajasthan’s home minister Gulab Chand Kataria
