Jeddah: Two people including a child have been killed and 10 injured in a terror act in Saudi Arabia. In Qatif, Eastern Province, armed assailants open fired at company working who were carrying out developmental project.
According to eyewitnesses, a Saudi child and a Pakistani national killed in the attack. Attack also left 10 injured.
According to news published in Arab News, the aim of the attack is to create hurdles in the demolition of old houses in Al-Masoura district which terrorists use as hideouts.
It is also reported that after policemen arrived at the crime spot, terrorists started heavy and random firing.
It may be mentioned that in Al-Masoura there are old buildings with few buildings more than 100 years old.
The developmental project which terrorists are trying to stop includes demolition of old residential buildings and construction of shopping centers, restaurants, residential towers and a cultural center.
Speaking on the incident, Interior Ministry said that security forces will enforce the law and order.
