Tension in city as BJP, CPM activists plan rallies

Tension prevailed for sometime in the State capital when Telangana BJP and CPM parties organized rallies against each other today. The BJP activists gathered at the Indira Park to proceed towards CPM State office at RTC crossroads. On the other hand, the CPM activists too readied to conduct a counter rally in this regard.

The police obstructed both the BJP and CPM activists before taking out their rallies. Police detained former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, BJP State president Dr K Laxman and others at Indira Park. The police also deployed its personnel at the CPM office as BJP has given a call earlier. The BJP had taken the decision to protest against the Kerala CPM party and murders of BJP and RSS activists in Kerala.

The activists of both the parties pushed each other at the CPM office when the police obstructed the rally taken up by the CPM. The police detained CPM Statesecretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, former MP Aziz Pasha and others. (NSS)
