Tennessee Republican Senator Bob calls Trump ‘utterly untruthful president’

Washington – President Trump and Tennessee Republican Senator Bob Corker recently got into a verbal spat on Twitter with President Trump referring the Republican Senate “couldn’t get elected dog catcher” with Senate Bob describing the President as ‘utterly untruthful president’.

Looking at their war of words directed to each other on Tuesday seems the feud between the two leaders is not over yet.

Corker’s comment on White House in his defense received a backlash by Trump when Foreign Relations Committee Chairman in his reference said the White House resembles an adult day care center and criticized Trump’s aggressive approach to North Korea.

“Bob Corker, who helped President O give us the bad Iran Deal & couldn’t get elected dog catcher in Tennessee, is now fighting Tax Cuts….” Trump tweeted.

Referring to Corker’s decision not to seek re-election next year Trump tweeted: “Corker dropped out of the race in Tennesse (sic) when I refused to endorse him, and now is only negative on anything Trump. Look at his record!”

Senate Corker responded with “Same untruths from an utterly untruthful president” including a new hashtag #AlertTheDaycareStaff,” referring to Trump that he did actually offer to support his re-election bid.

Trump degrading Senate hit back again at him in a pair of tweets.
“Sen. Corker is the incompetent head of the Foreign Relations Committee, & look how poorly the U.S. has done. He doesn’t have a clue as … the entire World WAS laughing and taking advantage of us. People like liddle’ Bob Corker have set the U.S. way back. Now we move forward!”

This verbal back-and-forth spat continued for hours prior to luncheon where both the leaders were to attend the weekly Senate Republican policy lunch at the U.S. Capitol.

Corker when stopped by the reporters on Capitol Hill, prior to the luncheon, accused Trump of “bullying,” “name-calling” and “dividing.”

He said referring to Trumps presidency “It appears to me that it’s almost devolving”, adding, “For young people to be watching … someone of this mentality … is something that is debasing to our country”.

Earlier in a show that Corker appeared referring to the ongoing North Korea issue, he said Trump is unnecessarily raising tensions by escalating tensions with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program and also suggested that he let diplomats deal with the problem.

“The president undermines our secretary of State, raises tensions in the area by virtues of the tweets that he sends out and I would just like for him to just leave it to the professionals for a while and see if we can do something that is constructive for our country, the region and the world,” Corker said.

The Republicans though have a Senate majority it still constitutes only 52 of the 100 votes. And with each vote counting, only a few defectors can deprive the GOP of major legislation similarly as happened with attempts to Obamas repeal bill the former President Obama’s health care plan.

Since Corker declined from seeking re-election Trump repeatedly started the verbal spat. election to a third term.

Earlier Trumps attacked on Oct. 8 with Corker responding on Twitter as: “It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning.”

In an interview following the same day Corker said Trump’s rash statements and reckless threats could set the United States “on the path to World War III.”

He said that he doesn’t regret the comments he made on Tuesday saying that: “I don’t make comments that I haven’t thought about.”

He added that Trump did try to talk him into running the for Senate again and also offered his help but he simply refused.

Questioning Trump’s tweet that took one proposal off the table, referring to the Tax cut bill, Corker criticized Trump on his negotiations of the same.

“If you start taking things off the table before you get started, you make that very difficult,” Corker said. Adding, “What I hope is going to happen is the president will leave this effort to the tax-writing committees.”
