Tendulkar dons engineer’s hat to assemble BMW

Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar paid a visit to German automobile major BMW’s Chennai plant where he was seen trying his hands in assembling a luxury car.

Passionate for BMW, Tendulkar who has been driving the German car for years marked the occasion by assembling a BMW 5 series using parts from the Indian auto component suppliers.

Describing his experience of making a BMW as ‘ unique’ and ‘ unforgettable ‘, Tendulkar said that he is an avid BMW enthusiast and has been driving BMW cars since a very long time.

“I am impressed by the high quality standards followed at BMW Plant Chennai that ensure the impeccable performance of a BMW,” said Tendulkar.

“I got the opportunity to go through the tiniest details and efforts that are put into making a BMW. Next time I take my BMW out, I can proudly say – I have made one! ,” he added.

In a bid to bolster the ‘Make in India’ initiative, BMW has increased the level of localization at BMW Plant Chennai upto 50 percent. (ANI)
