Tenant farmers to get interest free loans for Rabi

Hyderabad, December 04: The State Government on Saturday announced that it would provide interest free loans to tenant farmers who are having LEC cards during the Rabi seasons.

In a reply to a question raised by MLAs D Venkata Bala Vardhana Rao and others during Question House in the State Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha said that there were 5,85,954 tenant farmers across the State. So far, the government has issued cards to 5,76,147 farmers and about 1.30 lakh LEC holders have been sanctioned loans of Rs 270.20 crore.

Rajanarasimha assured the House that the all the left over LEC holders would be sponsored for crop loans during the Rabi season. Pavala Vaddi is also available on par with other farmers. He said crop insurance and input subsidy was also being paid to LEC card holders in situations of natural calamities.
