Telangana NRI Association (TENA) has decided to give TeNA Honorary Awards for Telangana Renaissance, every year, in five fields.
The Awards will be: Kaloji Award for best literary work; Chindula Yellamma Award for best Telangana cultural initiative; Prof, JayaShankar Award for Best Research work; Komaram Bheem Award for an individual/organization that works for bringing reforms in Social sphere; and Suravaram Pratap Reddy Award for encouraging publication of new writers.
This was announced at a media meet here on Saturday by Association Chairman Narayana Swamy Venkatayogi.
He said that cash prize, memento and Certificate will be given to each winner. Telangana intellectuals, writers, Social and Literary figures would select the prize winners. He said that the Association has been involved in activities relating to preservation and promotion of Telangana identity and culture, Educating and bringing awareness about issues related to the Region, supporting and participating in advocacy activities involved in restoration of statehood to Telangana and to promote and participate in developmental, charitable and social activities in Telangana.
