Ten TD members suspended for a week

Speaker S. Madhusudanachary today suspended 10 Telugu Desam party members for a week for creating ruckus in the Assembly during general discussion on budget.
With the proposal of Legislature Affairs Minister T Harish Rao for suspension of the TDP members as they were obstructing budget proceedings, the Speaker asked the latter to leave the House. Those suspended TD leaders include Telugu Desam floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Deputy leader A Revanth Reddy, S Venkata Veeraiah, Gandhi, Gopinath, Kishan Reddy, Vivekananda, Prakash Reddy, Rajender Reddy and Sayanna.
The reason for their suspension from the House was that TDP deputy floor leader A Revanth Reddy bluntly refused to apologise to the House for his alleged remarks that TRS MP Kavitha had enrolled her name twice during the Integrated Household Survey against norms. Despite Speaker S. Madhusudanachary giving him mike and Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao asking him to speak out and apologise, Revanth failed to do so. Instead, the TD leaders shouted slogans in the House which led to their suspension. (NSS)
