Temporary driver of MCD arrested for bike thefts

New Delhi, November 10: Two persons including a temporary driver of MCD were arrested and four stolen motorcycles recovered from their possession, police said today.

The duo were identified as Sunil Sharma alias Chotu (19) and Ashok Kumar alias Tony (24), who was working as a temporary driver in MCD, police said.

Three Hero Honda Splendour and one Hero Honda Unicorn bike, which the duo confessed to have had stolen from Bhajanpura and Mukherjee Nagar police station areas, were recovered from their possession, police said, adding a fake number plate was also recovered.

Police claimed that Sharma and Kumar were caught with one stolen bike during vehicle checking conducted last night.

On verification, it was found that the motorcycle had been stolen from Mukerjee Nagar police station area, police said.

During interrogation, the duo disclosed they had stolen 7-8 more motorcycles from Bhajanpura and Mukherjee Nagar police station areas, police said.
