Directing to clear the pending files, Endowment Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today expressed displeasure at the officials for tardy pace of temple works taken up under common good fund.
At a review meeting with officials he said that though Rs 22 cr spend works are yet to be completed. The minister said that Rs 4.30 cr will be spent for construction of temples at weaker sections colonies and Rs 22 cr for the same in other areas. He asked the officials to make some amendments in the draft rules for speeding up the works. In the meeting it was decided to spend Rs 22 cr for construction of temples and renovation under the common good fund. To simplify the release of the funds the minister asked to repeal the powers of the executive officers of their powers and handover the same to assistant commissioners. So far 162 works taken up spending Rs 22 cr the minister said. (NSS)
