If you visit the govt. offices, educational institutions, courts, hospitals in the city, you will find that there is not a single place left where a temple has not been constructed. Though India a secular country and Supreme Court has put a ban on construction of religious structures at govt. offices or public buildings.
After the incorporation of Hyderabad State into India, Dr. Burgula Ramakrishna Rao was elected Chief Minister of Hyderabad state, in first state Assembly elections in India, in 1952. He had led the revolt against Huzoor Nizam’s rule and Hyderabad Deccan. After he died in 1967 his memorials were installed at many places of the states and many public buildings were named after him. One such building is located near the beautiful Husain Sagar Lake at Basheer Bagh where various government offices work. Violating the ruling of Supreme Court a permanent temple is being constructed in the premises which is in the final phase of completion.
Initially a picture of Hindu Devi was placed at the spot and then some office workers planned to construct a permanent temple at the place. You can see in this picture a photo frame hanging on a pipe. This picture was kept at the place where the temple is being constructed now.
Now the question arises whether the government and officials of the department permit to construct Masjid, Church or Gurudwara within the complex?
