Telugu Yuvata charges US police of torturing students

Hyderabad, January 29: Telugu Yuvata, the youth wing of the Telugu Desam party, has alleged that the US police have tortured students from Andhra Pradesh who were cheated by the Tri-Valley University by giving visas illegally.

A press release by Telugu Yuvata and Telugu Nadu Students Federation (Student wing of the party) have expressed anxiety over the fate of the students who were stranded because of the fraud committed on them by the university. They said the US government, instead of helping the students who were put to trouble for no fault of theirs, had allowed the police to torture them through the Chiplock method used for hardened criminals and terrorists. They demanded that the US government provide alternative educational opportunity to these students and immediately stop police atrocities on them.

The press release was signed by Mr Bida Ravindra Yadav, State president of the Telugu Yuvata and Mr Nannuri Narsi Reddy, State president of the Telugu Nadu Students Federation.
