Telugu film hurts the religious sentiments of Muslims

Hyderabad: Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission on Saturday issued notices to Hyderabad Police and the Censor Board against the poster of an upcoming Telugu film which hurts the sentiments of Muslim community.

According to news published in DNA, Khaja Tanveer Ahmed has filed a complaint before the commission stating that the poster of the Telugu film “Nannaku Prematho” shows the actress in an obscene posture against the backdrop of religious verses. The complainant claimed that the producer and director have deliberately tried to hurt the sentiments of Muslims. BVMS Prasad is the producer of the film while Devi Sri Prasad is the director.

Following the complaint, the commission issued show-cause notices to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and Central Board of Film Certification. It is to be noted that the film is scheduled to release on 13th January 2016.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Muslim youths demonstrated against the film scene and poster in front of Censor Board Office at AC Guard demanding removal of sacred names from the film scene and poster.
