Hyderabad, January 10: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today sought an unconditional apology from AICC president Sonia Gandhi for the attacks on Reliance outlets by Congress activists. Speaking to reporters here today, TDP leader and former law minister P Chandrasekhar said that as the Congress supporters were creating law and order problem in the State, the AICC president should tender an apology to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
He also demanded that the Congress party should compensate the loss in the recent attacks on private and public properties.
The Congress had a track record of creating law and order problems. Sikhs were targeted, when Indira Gandhi was assassinated.
Private properties were damaged in the State after the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, he said. He wanted to know from the police why cases were not registered against the Congress workers, though there was a proof that they prepared the attacks much before in Gandhi Bhavan itself. The TDP had no love towards Reliance, but it was anguished over the attacks on the properties of the company. The party would react equally to the attacks either on a road-side tea stalls or big firms, he said.
