Hyderabad: A 26-year-old youth was allegedly shot by an unidentified person in California on Sunday at a shop where he works temporarily as a part-time employee.
Mubeen Ahmed who hails from Sangareddy district went to the US to pursue his masters in engineering in February 2015 after completing B Tech in electronics and communications engineering from the state’s Royal Institute of Technology and Science.
After completing his program two months ago, he was working at the store near California on a temporary basis.
Mubeen’s father Mujeeb Ahmed said. “On the day Mubeen was at the store when a few persons of black origin came in to make some purchase. There was some heated argument between the customers and Mubeen. Later, they fired at him resulting in a rupture in his stomach and damage to liver.”
Mubeen was immediately rushed to Eden Medical Centre in Castro Valley. His friends informed his relatives in Chicago and they reached California to attend to him.
His uncle Mufti Aslam Osman said. “He is said to be on a ventilator and his condition is critical.”
He also said that .“Mujeeb would leave for the US after getting the visa in a day or two.”
