Hyderabad: A maid suffering harassment at the hands of her employers in Dubai had pleaded to be rescued from the Gulf nation has now been traced by the Indian government yesterday sources confirmed.
The woman identified as Sameena of Kulkacharla village had gone to work in Dubai as a housemaid and had been working for more than a month.
In a video appeal where she pleaded to be rescued, Sameena revealed that she had suffered harassment in the house and had to run away from there and live with an acquaintance to escape the harassment, TOI reports.
She has been now traced by Thopalli Srinivas, BJP Hyderabad City Gulf NRIs Coordination Committee chairman who is also in Dubai.
Srinivas also brought her plight to the notice of the Indian Embassy in UAE.
Indian Ambassador to UAE Navdeep Suri has also responded to a tweet by KTR seeking additional information on Sameena for further developments in the case.
