Telangana will be power surplus State in 3 years: Lakshma Reddy

Energy Minister C Lakshma Reddy reiterated that the Telangana would be a power surplus State within three years.

Speaking to media persons after assuming charge at the State Secretariat on Thursday, Lakshma Reddy said that a committee was being formed to ensure proper execution of all power projects and related MoUs in the State. He said steps would be taken to remove all possible obstacles in establishing different power projects in the State. Further, consultants would be hired for proper execution of MoU signed with the Chattisgarh for the supply of 1,000 MW power.

The minister also informed that nearly 80,000 applications seeking new connections were pending clearance. He assured that new connection would be given within 24 hours after submission of Demand Draft. (INN)
