Hyderabad: 5 nominations papers submitted under Mutavalli and Managing Committee quota in connection with Telangana Waqf Board elections were scrutinised on Thursday of which one nomination paper was rejected. Thus only 4 candidates are in fray under this quota.
Candidates under Muslim MP, floor member and bar council member quota are likely to get elected unopposed.
In Mutavalli or Managing Committee quota, Sharfuddin, President Masjid Bi Saheba, Panjagutta had filed nomination paper. However name of Secretary Managing Committee Ashfaqullah is present in voter’s list. Hence due to absence of Sharfuddin’s name in the voter’s list his nomination paper has been rejected. The other four candidates under Mutavalli and Managing Committee quota are Maulana Syed Akber Nizamuddin, Wasiullah Quadri, Anwer Baig and Mahmood Asadullah Siddiqui.
The last date to withdraw nomination is December 31. 2nd list of the candidates will be issued on January 3, while the election will be held on January 10.
