Hyderabad: Telangana Urdu Academy will present Best Urdu Teacher and Best Urdu Student Awards on November 16, at Indira Priya Darshini Hall, Nampally. These awards are being presented on the occasion of Minority Welfare Day and Education Day to mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Secretary Director Urdu Academy Prof. S A Shukoor told that Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali will present 50 best Teachers Award at 6 pm. Besides 10 Urdu medium students will be presented Best Urdu Student Award.
Every year academy selects 50 teachers and 50 students for the award. Teachers will be presented Rs. 10000, a certificate, memento and shawl, while the students will be presented Rs. 3000 and a certificate.
The awards were to be presented in the function held on November 11, on Minority Welfare Day but the awards couldn’t not be presented in the function, hence Urdu Academy has decided to organise a separate function to give away the awards.
