After Telangana, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs to provide financial aid

Hyderabad: The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs is keen on adopting Telangana Government’s move to initiate providing financial aid to minority girls getting married.

The Union Ministry has decided to adopt the scheme to provide financial aid of Rs 51,000 to minority girls getting married said Muqtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday.

Abbas Naqvi, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs stating the scheme’s nature said is applicable for those who have already availed scholarship under the Ministry for their Education. “We decided in a meeting that on the lines of ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ in Telangana, girl child who does graduation by availing scholarship will be given Rs 51,000 as ‘Shaadi Shagun’, and I think it will support education in a big way. Telangana has set an example. In the country, the poorer sections among minority community face lot of difficulties”, said Abbas Naqvi.

He added this financial aid will help those parents who could not have saved money for their girl child’s marriage even after availing the scholarship.

Mr. Naqvi also said a skill development centre will also be launched to help the youth training them in different skills.

The ‘Gharib Nawaz Skill Development Centres’ will be established in 100 districts of the country which would provide job-oriented skill developments along with certification for a course in GST.

“After completing the three-month course in GST, the certificate holders would not only be able to help small and medium traders, but also common people”, said Abbas Naqvi. He further stated these job-oriented courses will open massive openings for the youths under the current skill requirements, reported the sources.
