Telangana: Two die, nine receive injuries in road accident

Hyderabad: At Mancherial- Chennur Highway, an accident occurred at 11 a.m. yesterday.

According to the details, a tipper filled with sand hit Tata AC Car heading towards Mancherial.

In the accident, two persons, Raju (25) and Rayapocham (45), the residents of Saroncha (Maharashtra) and Chennur respectively died on the spot. Nine other persons including two women and a child received serious injuries.

On receiving the information, ACP Mr. Venkat Reddy reached the spot along with police contingent and shifted the injured persons to Mancherial Hospital. The dead bodies of the two deceased persons were sent to Chennur Govt. hospital for postmortem.

Giving the details of the incident, ACP told the newsmen that TATA AC auto on which 13 persons were travelling was hit by a tipper.

It is reported that the accident took place after the tyre of auto burst which resulted in the loss of balance of the vehicle. After the accident, lorry driver fled away but later, he surrendered himself to the police.

ACP further told that a case has been registered and investigations have started.
