Telangana: Temperatures to come down, thunderstorm likely in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Sweltering summer heat in Telangana State is likely to cool down till May 14 as the IMD has issued a thunderstorm warning to the state.

This summer, several districts across the state have been struck hard with the heatwave where in some places the temperatures even touching 46°C.

According to the warning issued by IMD, thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph and lightning are likely to occur at isolated places over Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana, TOI reports.

This change according to the Meteorologists is due to change in weather to a cyclonic circulation over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and the neighbourhood and a trough extending from north interior Odisha to Rayalseema.

“Now, a prolonged spell of weather activity is coming up for the northern parts of the country. Central parts will also see some weather activities. Thus, due to these weather activities, wind pattern will see a change and after 48 hours, heat wave will abate from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” read the weather report issued by Skymet.

“The upcoming 48 hours may see some heat wave conditions but even that will be observed on a reducing note. Thus, residents are in for some relief from the ongoing weather conditions,” said Skymet.
