Hyderabad: There is no denying of protection of Islamic Shariat but the ally of TRS, MIM is exploiting this issue for getting political mileage out of it for election campaign in order to protect its declining credibility and also to benefit TRS in Telangana districts.
There is a proposal to organize meetings in the districts for the protection of Islamic Shariat. Under this strategy, MIM has taken the support of various religious organizations. In order to prove that it is the sole representative of the Muslim community, MIM has targeted Jamat-e-Islami for not accepting its leadership.
It became evident when President of Jamat-e-Islami, Mr. Hamid Mohammed Khan was forced to discontinue his speech when he was addressing a gathering in Nizamabad in which MP of Hyderabad was also present on the stage. He did not make any attempt to stop his supporters. Instead, he hinted at Mr. Hamid Mohammed Khan to end his speech. In this manner, a Muslim cleric was disrespected.
According to the report, the leadership of Jamat-e-Islami was targeted under an organized conspiracy since this religious organization has a sizeable following in Nizamabad. The credit of successful conduct of the meeting goes to the local leaders of Jamat-e-Islami. In fact, MIM leadership is irritated that the leadership of Jamat-e-Islami did not applaud the MIM MP whereas other speakers left no stone unturned in praising him.
Other members on the stage were surprised when people started shouting suddenly during the speech of Mr. Hamid Mohammed Khan.
It is also reported that disruption was deliberately organized in order to impress upon Jamat-e-Islami so that it would be forced to praise MIM leadership in the future meetings.
It may be mentioned that the differences between MIM and Jamat-e-Islami started when Jamat-e-Islami dissociated itself from United Muslim Forum whereas Jamat-e-Islami had played a key in the formation of the forum. Later, when a responsible member of the forum assumed a position in the Govt. violating the norms, Jamat-e-Islami dissociated itself from the forum. In fact, the forum is functioning as the parallel outfit of MIM. Favorites of MIM MP were given positions.
In order to exhibit unity of the Muslim community, Jamat-e-Islami associated itself with the protest meetings that are being organized in various districts of TS to oppose intervention in Islamic Shariat.
The unpleasant incident of Nizamabad meeting has forced the leaders of Jamat-e-Islami to review its decision whether to participate in the future meetings or not.
