Telangana: Super Thermal power project launched

Peddapalli:  Telangana Super Thermal Power Project (1×800 MW)’s foundation work started on Tuesday. Concrete work of 2,140 m3 (cubic meter) will continue for 50 hours.

The TG Island Turnkey package was awarded to ALSTOM (GE Power) on February 5, 2016 and the agency is implementing the work through Simplex Infrastructure Limited.

“National Thermal Power Corporation has been mandated to set up 4,000 MW coal-fired thermal Power Plant for Telangana State,” according to Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act 2014.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the first phase (2×800 MW) of Telangana Super Thermal Power Project on August 7, last year.
