Telangana Students to have separate counseling: Minister

A separate counselling for engineering will be conducted by Telangana Government and students of the region need not attend the certificate verification process for which the notification was issued by the APSCHE, said Education Minister G. Jagadish Reddy.

Jagadishwar Reddy speaking to the correspondents said without prior intimation to the Telangana State government decision was taken by council. “It is the prerogative of Andhra Pradesh government on how to go about the counselling process and our government is not concerned how AP State government goes about it,” Reddy said.

Mr. Reddy phrased the APSCHE’s notification as illegal and a ploy by A.P Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and APSCHE to delude students and defame the Telangana Government.

Telangana officials have written a letter questioning the Admission Committee’s meeting but they took a one-sided decision. None of the GOs pertaining to the counselling have been issued neither by the A.P Government nor by Telangana. “I want to assure Telangana students that they need not worry over the delay,” he said.

He further said the Government has the authority over all the colleges in its region and the AP Government cannot allot seats to its students here.

On the fee reimbursement tiff FAST (Financial Assistance for Students of Telangana), the Minister added the government has clarity about it and guidelines would be out in one or two days.
