In the wake of bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana State government has decided to form Telangana State Pharmacy Registration Tribunal as per Section 30 (1) of Pharmacy Council Act, 1948 (Central Act No.8 of 1948) consisting of three persons and a Registrar, who shall act as Secretary of the Registration Tribunal and also to constitute Telangana State Pharmacy Council as per Section 19 of the Pharmacy Act’1948 (Central Act).
Accordingly, the State government today issued notifications constituting State Tribunal to be called as “Telangana State Pharmacy Registration Tribunal” with effect from April 6. The Telangana State Pharmacy Registration Tribunal shall be a body consisting three persons and a Registrar who shall act as Secretary of the Registration Tribunal.
Six members, elected from amongst themselves by registered pharmacists of the State; five members, of whom at least (three) shall be persons possessing a prescribed degree or diploma in pharmacy or pharmaceutical chemistry or registered pharmacists, nominated by the State Government; one member elected from amongst themselves by the members of each Medical Council or by the Council of Medical Registration of the State; Chief Administrative Medical Officer of the State ex-officio or if he is unable to attend any meeting, a person authorized by him in writing to do so.
The appointment of president, vice-president, mode of elections, term of office and casual vacancies, staff, remuneration and allowances and so on shall be as per the procedure prescribed in the Pharmacy Act of 1948 (Central Act No.8 of 1948). (NSS)
