Telangana signs MoU with Chattisgarh for 1,000 MW power

The Telangana State signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chhattisgarh for purchasing 1,000 Mega Watt of power at an event held in Raipur on Monday.

The MoU was signed by the senior officials of both the States in the presence of Chief Ministers K Chandrashekar Rao (Telangana) and Raman Singh (Chattisgarh). Principal Secretaries of Energy Departments SK Joshi (Telangana) and Aman Singh (Chattisgarh) signed the MoU on behalf of their respective States. Finance Minister Etela Rajender, Government Representative Venugopal Chary, TSGENCO CMD Prabhakar Rao, Secretary to CM Narsing Rao, Chattisgarh Transport Minister Rajesh Munat and Agriculture Minister Brij Mohan Agarwal were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandhrashekar Rao thanked Raman Singh for agreeing to sell 1000 MW power to Telangana. He hoped that the move would help Telangana in overcoming the ongoing power crisis. (INN)
