Telangana Receives 28 % above Normal Rainfall

As per the review by TSDPS upto 30th September 2016 (1st June to 30th September), it was observed that, the Telangana State received 28 per cent above normal rainfall during the period (June +50%, July -3%, August -42% and September +180%).   

       

An official release today said that out of Ten districts, eight districts Hyderabad (+58%), Ranga Reddy (+47%), Nizamabad (+38%), Medak (+36%), Nalgonda (+36%), Warangal (+33%), Mahabubnagar (+23%) and Karimnagar (+20%) received excess rainfall and two districts Adilabad (+16%) and Khammam (+11%) received normal rainfall. Out of 459 Mandals, 10 Mandals received deficit rainfall of the districts Nalgonda – 5, Mahabubnagar – 2, Karimnagar-1, Adilabad -1 and Warangal – 1 Mandal; 184 Mandals received normal rainfall and 265 Mandals received excess rainfall. It indicates that 58 % of Mandals of the State received excess, 40% normal and 2% Mandals received deficit rainfall.

Forecast: Based on the Weather Model run at TSDPS of Planning Department and other available numerical guidance from National Centers (IMD and other centers), it is expected that light to moderate rainfall activity will continue during the next one week over Telangana State, the release said.(NSS)
