Telangana problem caused due to leaders failure: CPI

Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Friday accused the leaders of failing to implement the agreements entered into during the merger of Andhra and Telangana regions.

Addressing the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Vishaalandhra Telugu Daily at Ravindra Bharati on Friday, Narayana said the struggle for separate Telangana state caused as the leaders failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of backward Telangana region.

Stating said that the title Vishaalandhra was different from the problem, Narayana reminded that the daily fought for united Andhra Pradesh during 1956.

Raising objection for blaming CPI on the Telangana issue, he said that the daily has the guts to publish news favoring Telangana state formation now.

Narayana demanded the Congress party to fulfill its promise made to Telangana people and form a separate statehood for them.

Speaking on the occasion, Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu said that there was no question of the newspapers Vishaalandhra and Prajashakthi getting outdated though they completed 60 years.

He said that the dailies were known for providing genuine and constructive news.(INN)
