Telangana Police launch Mobile App to track stolen vehicles

The Telangana State Police has developed a Mobile App to support all police officers to trace stolen/abandon vehicles at the time of regular vehicle checking then and there itself.

This App is being provided to all the Officers of Telangana State Police up to the Rank of SIs working in Law and Order, Crime and Traffic Wings. With the verification of the Vehicle No./Engine No./ Chassis No. by entering it in the App the officers can verify whether the vehicle is a stolen one or not. Presently the App works on Android platform and the development of IOS App is in progress.

The Mobile App is having two options. Under Search Option, whenever the policemen suspect any vehicle, they can search the details of the vehicle by Vehicle No., Chassis No. or Engine No. Immediately, they will get whether that vehicle is in Stolen category or not including details of the Unit/District/Police Station, Crime No., etc.,

Under Entry Option, all Police Officers who have this App they can directly update the stolen/abandon vehicle particulars through their Mobile Phones.

“The updation and search of Stolen/Abandoned vehicle Data through Mobile Phone will facilitate Police Officers for immediate tracing of stolen vehicles. State-wide implementation of this application will help in nabbing the offenders thereby improving Crime Detection and Prevention. It will also support the Police Officers at the time of vehicle checking and for Traffic Police for easy tracking,” City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy said. (INN)
