Telangana police in Shirdi, to search ghazal singer ‘Vithal Rao’

A 15-member team of the Telangana police has reached Shirdi and is searching for legendary ghazal singer Pandit Vithal Rao from Hyderabad, who had gone missing from the pilgrim town of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district since the last ten days.

A local police team in Shirdi also looked for Mr Vithal Rao but could not find him. The Telangana police special crime team is headed by circle inspector V. Shyam Babu.

“Soon after my father went missing, we immediately informed the local police, but they have done nothing to trace my father. Had they done their job, we would have found him by now,” she alleged. Mr Vithal Rao’s eldest daughter Sandhya Rao has camped in Shirdi ever since the incident.

“The Telangana police team has started the search and “We are going to circulate our Guruji’s picture in the local media. We hope to find him very soon, “.Ms Sandhya Rao said.

“Shirdi police in Nashik and Ahmednagar headquarters are helping us. We are hopeful of tracing Mr Vithal Rao,” said Mr Shyam Babu.
