Khammam: For nearly four years, 19-year-old Boda Rama Devi, a resident of Khammam district, had been missing.
After searching for their beloved daughter for many days, the parents had lost all hope of finding her again.
However, thanks to the Telangana police app Cop Connect, Rama could be reunited with his family.
The mobile application has a WhatsApp-like feature for transmitting messages, sharing photos, videos, location and documents on a real-time basis. It also has an additional feature of facial recognition.
Devi had gone missing in January 2014 from her residence in Khammam district, following which family registered a missing complaint in at Garla police station.
Rama somehow managed to reach Hyderabad, where a staff of Child Help Line Centre found her and handed over to Child Welfare Commission (CWC). The CWC kept the girl in Child Guidance Centre at Ghatkesar area.
The information technology officials while matching the photographs of the missing persons, staying in shelter homes found the girl staying in Ghatkesar Child Home.
They immediately informed the Garla police, who approached the parents. They later visited the shelter home and identified their daughter.
